Thank you very much for the thoughts!

I just came home after 30 on one of the mountains in Athens. It was blowing like crazy all night long and it made work even more difficult. It is obvious that the fire was going really fast because all of the trees are only burned low and not so much high on the leaves.

It is really difficult to fight it, especially when some people are trying to avoid work by hiding, or when command does not seem capable to handle so many people...

Glad I could make somebodies day a little brighter, ha! Even though they're a HUGE disappointment this year, go Pens! As I've told Crotty, I miss the bitter Pens - Sabres play off games. Or as he put it, Sabres - Pens.

Thanks Piezion, I just found that FFN has a Italian Firefighters group too. This is a really cool site and how everybody can get together.

you guy's have the chance to work for such a traditional fire department. how many firemen do you have on a first alarm? I work an outpost station, located on the pacific coast, 40 miles North of Santa Barbara. You can google my station by looking up Gaviota. It is cool looking out at the ocean through my office window. the only bummer is that it get REALLY WINDY... 75 MPH gusts are not unheard of. And our 2nd arriving engine company is about 15 minutes away if they are in quarters. Perhaps, if I ever get out to the east coast, I might be able to do a ride-a-long with you? Your always welcome to come out and visit my little slice of paradise. I actually live in the Santa Ynez Valley. which is inland about 12 minutes from the ocean. Looking forward to comparing our worlds. Stay safe brother. Mike
