I'm 39 yrs old, just married, with 4 wonderful kids. work as an EMT for a paid ambulance service for the past 7 yrs. Fire service has been in my family for close to 70 yrs, starting with my grandfather, my father, my mother (an EMT), my brother, myself, and now my nephew.

The lack of time needed to re-cert. Most people like doing this, but when they work 40 plus hours a week full time come home to see there family, they don't have a lot of spare time to give up for the training.
