Why I Joined Fire/EMS

As Mayor of a small town I was called to the scene of a fatal MVA. A young man was pinned for over 45 minutes . We had only 2 firemen respond as it was mid after noon. I asked the Chief what the town could do to help? He said get me more volunteers! I asked if I could join and he said if you can get through the training. I did and have cherished every minute I have spent in the fire service.
