The first year in was tough. I had a lot of proving I needed to do in my company. I wanted to be an interior firefighter so I needed to get the approval of the guys I would be going in with. I just backed up anything I said I could do. For the most part I kept quiet and just learned as much as possible. I had taken a vocational firefighting class my senior year so that helped me a lot. I had gotten a lot of the classes in that I would have needed to get once I was in as a full member. Keep your head up and just keep doing what you are doing, you will come out just fine! If someone tells you cant do something, just prove them wrong. ;) Stay safe and be strong!
