Travis, I received this letter from a person who says she is friends with your mother: Maybe you should get in touch with your mother Bro.
Chief,
I found your welcome note to Travis on the Single Firefighters Web site and
thought that maybe I could reach out to you. My name is Dr. Patricia Case and I
am a marriage and family therapist practicing in Alberta, Canada. I am also a
childhood friend of Travis Brereton's mother, Caminee Porter. I am writing to
you to request assistance for my friend who is very ill and possibly dying. She
has been hospitalized many times and in the past month have had two heart
attacks. Travis claims that he is working and cannot get time off even for a
day to visit his mother in Tallahassee. I am not sure whether there is family
friction which keeps him from visiting her however all I do know is that his
mother would dearly like to see her only son before she dies. In the future,
Travis may not have this opportunity so as a concerned family friend and
professional, I'm wondering if you could somehow kindly assist in getting him
some time off (if that's what is keeping him from seeing her) or encourage him
to see her. No one is aware that I am reaching out to you to hopefully give her
this last wish therefore I trust you could keep this email confidential.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. If you cannot assist, I'll certainly
understand. If I have sent this to the wrong person and you do not know Travis,
please forgive me.
Warm regards,
Patricia
