Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I work for StoveTop FireStop and wanted to let people in the firefighting community know about this product. StoveTop FireStop is an automatic fire suppressor specifically designed to put out stovetop, grease fires. Unlike traditional fire extinguishers, StoveTop FireStop magnetizes to the underside of the venthood and works automatically to address the leading cause of cooking fires - unattended cooking. It is flame activated only (will not activate with smoke or high temperatures) and releaes a fire-suppressing powder and loud POP sound which alerts the resident. We work with fire departments across the country and many have even used grant money from The Department of Homeland Security to purchase the StoveTop FireStop.
