About Me:

well a little about me, i am 34 and single from lugoff south carolina, i am the youngest of four siblings. right now i am the only one left in my family in the fire service and plan to be there for a very long time. i am also the Departments Muscular Distrophy Coordinator for the columbia fire, i am also on the state urban search and rescue team, i also helo out with the burned childrens fund at MUSC. i sound pretty busy but i do have my down moments to, any other questions feel free to ask

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

well it first started out as a family thing, i was brought in at the age of 14 as a fire explorer for the Blaney fire Dept in Elgin Sc till the age of 18 where i was voted on as a volunteer firefighter. I have enjoyed all my years of service that i have given to the Fire Department. i had been thru several volunteer stations throughout Richland and Kershaw counties in south carolina. In Feb of 03 i was hired on as the daytime driver by Kershaw County for the Blaney Fire Dept where it had all started years ago. In may i got my call to come to the City of Columbia Fire Dept were i have served now for 6 years and 3 months, i am about to be promoted to the rank of fire engineer> Since coming into the fire service i have seen alot and have been thru alot in my 20 years,ranging from bad calls to loseing a family member on a fire call. But my strenth still goes on and will for as long as i can help. Any other questions please feel free to ask.
