About Me:

I love in a small community....town size of 390 people. I am a farm wife and mother of four wonderful kids. My kids are all grown now, and it is just me and my better half. Every day is a new adventure.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined EMS 20 years ago as there was a shortage of EMT's in this area. I have come to love it very much. I joined the Fire Department 15 years ago as there was a shortage of people to respond to fires during the day. I have also come to love the fire department and the people on it. They are like my family.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I love being able to be there for people in their time of need.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

In our small area, it is hard to find people that can take the time to do the training to become an EMT/First Responder, even when it is going to be funded for them. It is very time consuming, and a big commitment to make. The same is true for the fire department. We have our people that are very dedicated, but not alot of new people seem to want to put in the time or dedication.
