Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I was volunteering at the Pentagon during the 9/11 clean up and body recovery and was exposed to many of the search and rescue teams. I wanted to do search and rescue (especially K9) and was told by several of the teams to get in with a rescue squad or fire department.
