My Training:
NPQ I, NPQ Fire Inspector, Haz-Mat Tech, Paramedic, I recently completed a relatively new series of classes at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center for my NPQ Fire Officer I & II. This includes 4 classes for a total of 200 hrs, they are Acting Officer in Charge 40 hrs, T.I.L.T.- Transitional Interpersonal Leadership Training 40 hrs, Fire Dept Supervision 40 hrs, and Fire Dept Management 80 hrs. Those four classes are very good classes I would recommend them to anyone.
About Me:
I am a 36 y/o Sgt./Paramedic with the City of Hapeville Fire and Rescue. I have 2 girls (3 and 5) that are the most important thing in the world to me.
Day Job:
I currently am assigned to Station 1 rotating between the Engine and Rescue truck.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I joined for the chance to help people in need. I still find myself after 15 years still desiring to help people from the citizens to the rookie firefighter coming in to the profession.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is an every changing fast paced job where you get the chance to help someone or just be a role model to some small chid. I fill that it is I job as firefighters and company officers to be that hero that the kids need.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I think one of the main issues facing firefighters is a lack of training. There is also a big problem with change in the fire service, the mentality this is the way we always have did it, which falls back to training and a willingness to adapt to the future and new and better ideas and ways to accomplish the goals or missions without losing 100+ firefighters a year.
