Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To serve my community and help protect our citizen's first right, the right to life, save propterty and protect the environment. The volunteer firefighter has many other jobs and duties including fundraising, multiple levels of training and schooling, demonstrations, lectures, CPR, first aid, cleaning and working on fire apparatus, repairs and improvements, etc. etc. etc. Volunteers volunteer 24/365 for those reasons mentioned above and doing those things together as a brotherhood brings us closer to do those jobs to the best of our abilities to make a better company.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love being able to help people/animals that need saved from fire/accidents etc.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Those who may be interior firefighting without proper training and certification putting officers at risk of losing their assests if sued by families. Working in teams, two in two out. Radio communications, too much chatter. Volunteer duties don't always include just firefighting. If you volunteer you volunteered for it all.
