Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I love the opportunity to take care of business in the most professional way possible. I joined the fire service because I saw it as an opprtunity to work with a group of people who were as passionate about doing a great job as I am. I love my job, looking at every 911 caller with a "it's ok, no problem, we got it" kind of attitude. My motto: Treat everyone like a customer, no matter what time of day or night they need service. Blessed to be able to do what I love.

DON’T SHOOT THE MESSENGER

Remember the old saying “Don’t shoot the messenger”? I was just recently reminded of the adage and how we in the fire service need to heed its meaning as much as anyone. There's more to a "Parade Load" than just looks...

Sure a Parade Load looks great, and our employers (citizens/ taxpayers) always deserve to see that we take our job seriously. We should do everything with a maximum amount of pride and professionalism, but more importantly, a Parade Load has an important functional purpose. That rain guard should protect the hose.
