About Me:

I am 48 years old and started fighting fires at 16 years old (yes, you could do that back then). I have been driving and operating fire apparatus since I was 16 as well (back in the days when we still rode tailboards and never wore SCBA). I really have grown up in the fire service and my love for it is only surpassed by my love for God and my family. I work for a Public Safety agency, which means I am both full time fire and police for the city.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I have been interested in fire firefighting, rescue and other emergency services since I was a child watching first runs of Emergency and Adam-12.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Too many reasons to put into words, but the excitement and look on the face of those I am able to help.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Safety and not learning from old mistakes. We still do things that we have learned don't work from the deaths of brothers/sisters in the past.
