Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I wanted to help my community.
My husband and I were in a very bad car accident, and I had a lot of trouble sitting there unable to help the other people. So we decided that we would never sit by again. We joined the fire department and got the training needed to be able to help. Now I don't sit by and watch people in a state of need I am trained and able to give them the help that they need.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I love to help people.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

FUNDING!!! TRAINING!!!!
Seems the ecomony is hard on everyone, including the volunteer fire departments! We don't have much money to buy new gear, or equipment. We also don't have the money to send people to special trainings, so we try to do as much in house as we can.
