Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I grew up around the fire department. My sep father which has been in my life since I was 5 yrs. old was a battalion chief and I would go and visit him. I would play around on the fire trucks and act like I was one of the guys. That had a lot to do with it but you have got to have it in your heart to do this job. People can not come into this profession and think they are going to get rich doing it but you have to relies the lives you will touch is worth more than money. Helping people is what it is all about.
