I am a 54 year old widow of fallen firefighter Robert C Stanmire Sr. who answered his last and final call on February 16th 1999 when God called him home to heavens brigade. Now he has a 16 month old grandson too. He was a vietnam veteran, correction officer, husband, father, grandfather, soccer coach, supported and friend of all veterans, and supported all our Pow/Mia's, my Soul Mate and Best Friend and sadly missed by me, his wife, children, grandchildren, fellow Brotherhood of firefighters, veterans, correction officers, and his/our many, many friends.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
One of my good friends father died suffering from a heart attack. while it took it seemed awhile for the ambulance/ems service to arrive from the other side of the township, he died where he enjoyed being in his farm field. I could not see that happen again to someone i knew again let alone so one else.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I enjoyed helping people that were hurt or injured.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Not enough people to volunteer their time. the liability involved in helping someone these days. The rise in blood bore infections, universal precautions, the loss of their own life and leaving their family behind to pick up the pieces of famly puzzle that never fits back together again.
