Primary Fire/EMS Department:
Riverton Volunteer Fire & Rescue
Years With Department/Agency

My Training:
Vehicle Rescue Basic and Advanced, Tower Rescue, Essenstials of Firefighting, Pump Operations, "The Art of Reading Smoke", many others, have taken equivalent certification for FF1, just have not had time to do the actual course or testing. Am currently enrolled in EMT-B class, would have done all of this sooner, but didnt have time until now, between HS and work and then College and work... now that i am out of college and working full time my plan is to get FF1 and FF2 and become an instructor for the volunteer service as well as eventually become a Paramedic Specialist for the EMS side of it.
I grew up around it and it was something that interested me and i enjoy helping peolpe and knowing that i can make a difference. I joined the Riverton Volunteer Fire and Rescue @ the age of 16 as a junior firefighter, and now i am almost 23, i still enjoy every minute of it. My father has been on it for over 30 years, and has been Fire Chief and Rescue Squad Captain throughout his career for 29 years off and on and is currently chief at this time.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The rush of the call, and knowing that i am helping someone and making a difference.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Funding on volunteer departments that do not receive tax money..... We sometimes struggle to make it, especially since we do not bill for EMS calls at this time.
