I Started when I was 15 in EMS, I went into the fire department a year later. I enjoyed the training and the chance to make a differance. My second fire was a double fatal involving children,I gained much respect for my actions at that one.I have made 11 fire rescues in my carear.10 of them were animals,8 cows,1calf and the most recent an 4 foot alligator and I also lead a person out of his burning home. Now it's my job to keep my people safe and get the job done so "Everyboody goes home"
Lack of volunteers, In my area, there is a need to consolidate departments
Training, there is a need but time is a big factor. It tough to work, raise a family and Do everthing that needs to be done at avolunteer department.
