Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined the VOLUNTEER Fire Department to help others in my community. I am Department Chief for Crowders Mountain Volunteer Fire & Rescue. We have 70 members and two different stations. We run Fire, Rescue and EMS. We have run over 1200 Fire Calls and about 3000 EMS Calls.
I try to operate on a motto, " You have to do something for FREE before you really get Paid for it."
