fire fighter one and two, survival, emergency vehicle operations course, truck company operations, incident command system 1, 2, and 7, hazardous materials technician, confined space rescue technician, rescue technician basic, and emergency medical technician.
honestly, i wasn't interested in joining the fire or ems service at first. even though i had family history in a department, i just had too many things going on. i finally decided to join a department that my friends were a part of, ultimately falling in love with everything about serving my community and being a part of something.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
it allows me the chance to help others. I have family history in the fire service and it gives me great pride to be standing alongside my father and grandfather in this profession.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
safety, lack of knowledge regarding command structure, looking before we leap into a scene, understanding that we didnt put people into their situations and that our safety and the safety of our crew are first before anyone elses. training
