Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I have always like disaster related items and emergency medicial issues. I have been a volunteer for the American Red Cross for over 17 years as a first aid instructor and a disaster relief worker. Was sitting in the Red Cross office when one of our volunteer firefighters stopped by and mentioned that they were short harded over at the station for medic and encouraged me to come and join the station. So on my 35th birthday I met with the fire chief and joined the the fire/EMS experience and have enjoyed every moment of it since--the good ones, the bad ones, and there are the great saves.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
when a save is made it is worth every moment I work.

I'm like you, fell in love with the place. Had a security job on the pipeline promised after my tour. If I didn't have deep roots here in Knoxville, I would have taken them up on the offer. Greatest memory I have was hiking to the back side of Portage Glacier near Whittier. Fantastic trip. When I hit the lottery, I'm coming back!!!!!
