My 25 year old son choked on a meatball when he was two, and I felt helpless to extract the thing from his tiny throat. Fear of breaking his ribs prevented me from doing the Heimlich Manouver properly (method used back then) and finger sweeps resulted in me cutting his upper pallette.
a 911 operator walked me through the proper method to resolve the eissue. Thanks!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The intrinsic reward of making a diference in peoples lives.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Ever increasing bureaucratic hoop jumping to remian in compliance with all the governing entities and to stay motivated.
Attitudes by paid personnel and paid staff and or management toward volunteers that discourage participation and the reward of feeling appreciatied.
Never ending policies that regulate us out of existence.
