My husband has been in for years. When he went out on a call, I stayed at home with the children. The children one by one started grew up and to fill an empty nest, we adopted to affenpinshers who had been rescued from a puppy mill. One thing led to another and I would up in animal rescues in our county. One particular dog I rescued, was adopted, but came back due to the owner's health. He won my heart the first time I saw him. He is now back with me and has turned out to be a great Search and rescue dog. So I guess you could say my dogs are responsible for me being here!
