Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Originaly started my fire service career with Lindenwold Fire COmpany # 3 back in May of 1995, through the changes in times, and availability of volunteer members the company has been reorganized and had all of the active members merge with the members from Lindenwold Fire Company # 1. At the time of the merger of these two stations the fire district as a whole became one Fire Fighting Organization. The members from stations 631, 632, & 633 are now all responding as one department. Lindenwold Fire Department District 63. District 63 is now runnig two separate Battalions, Battalion 1 out of the Linden Ave station formerly Station 631, Battalion 2 out of the Scott Ave station formerly Station 632. The Board of Fire Commissioners, Fire Prevention Bureau, & Fire Marshalls office all now occupy space at Fire Headquarters formerly Station 633. The two engine bays can now be utilized as the new motor maintenance garage, all new and prospective members will now go to Fire Headquarters for there application, and physical forms. Once submitted and accepted they will get all required turnout gear, pagers, and any other equiptment from Fire Headquarters, kind of a "One Stop Shopping" experience.
My Training:
Never enough. But my Training Division in my department is the best in the county.
About Me:
Portly, but working on changing that, in more ways than one.
Day Job:
Not right now, looking at going back to school.
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To give back to the community, and find out if the fire service was for me or not. Been here going on 13 years, I guess it was for me. My father, was a life member of the Berlin Inter Community Ambulance Association Squad 21. They covered both Berlin Boro & Berlin Township. So I pretty much grew up in and around the Fire/EMS services.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The feeling of knowing your part of a team that can make a difference in someone elses life.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of quality trained individuals to respond on a VOLUNTEER basis. Higher demand from the public for services from the Fire/EMS sector.
