Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My dad and my brother were career firefighters for over twenty years. I lost my dad in 1994 after a heart attack, and I lost my brother to cancer in 2006 while he was still an active firefighter.
I began my EMS career in 1981 and let the family tradition of eating smoke fall to the wayside, until recently.
This page, and my decision to become a firefighter, are both dedicated to the memory of these two great guys, both of whom I miss very much.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Being there to make a difference in people's lives when they need it most.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety, dinosaur thinking, boundary-line dispatching, and failure to use common sense!
