Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I very much enjoy helping those in need even if there is nothing more that you can do but hold their had and reassure them that everything is ok even when its not

Why I Love Fire/EMS: Never underestimate the power of a female fire fighter.The best thing any of us can do is hold a hand... wether its the child who is scared and wiping away tears....the elderly person who has fallen and is scared things will never be the same.... the person who has lost everything in a fire and is scared because they have no place to take their children... all we can do is hold hold out our hand and smile and let them know everything is going to be okay. Each and everyday we are given the chance to change lives and those who do are the most respected people in my eyes. Those who leave their wives,husbands, children behind to brave the never understanding tragedies we face are the worlds true heros. I want to thank all those people who dont get the respect and thanks the so much deserve. Always thank your dispatchers because they take so much abuse that some never see. They have to deal with the histerical person on the other end of a phone line and do the best they can to get as much information as they can to help you do your job when you arrive on scene. It it wasnt for them where would you be??????
