Proud Father of three whose accomplishments would take far beyond the characters available to me... and also a super proud step father of two teenage boys, one in high school and one a freshman in college. I am also the "Pap" of my only grandchild, "Ryker. He lives at Camp Pendleton, CA with his Marine Staff Sergeant father and my second daughter Samantha.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

An 18 year old boy who was looking for the adrenaline fix after high school... Well I found it. And if you look at my career path through life it has always been adrenaline centered.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

For far different reasons than 38 years ago... I still get my fix on the engine every time the tones drop, but EMS is ready to force me to give everything up. When I started nearly four decades ago, EVERY ambulance call was a true emergency to some level. No we are a glorified taxi service giving cab rides to welfare recipients and illegal immigrants.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

The new generation not heading to the firehouse with their Dad's and Grandpa's to learn the family business. Video games are more important than either volunteering or a career in service. The public's abuse of the EMS system. And with the diminishing pool of candidates can only be described as "poor and lacky of the necessary prerequisites to become an effective firefighter. The brotherhood is a dying breed.
