About Me:

I have been married to my beautiful wife for 20 years . I have done every job and held every rank my department has to offer . I have been Chief for 10 years . By working my way up , I have earned the respect of the men I command . I have seen a lot in my time , but I know I have not seen it all . My outlook is never stop learning . When you think you know it all , you sure as heck don't .

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I started as a Jr. Fire Fighter at age 10 when my dad joined the VFD . What little boy did not grow up wanting to be a Fireman ? The fire service is a large part of who I am . From Jr. to Chief , I have worked my way up the chain . No matter if I ever hear " thank you " from anybody , I get a great feeling in knowing I tried to help someone in need .

Why I Love Fire/EMS

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside .

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Getting caught up in the " gotta hurry up and do something " mindset . Garbagemen do not get excited when they round the corner and see a huge pile of garbage . People call 911 . You are a professional , that's why they sent you . Take your time and be safe in the job .
