Firefighter I, Auto Extrication, Haz-Mat, EVOC, Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Rope Rescue, Sub Terranian Rescue, CPR- First Aid, and I am sure there are a few I'm forgetting.
About Me:
I started out with the West Side Fire Department back when i was 20 years old. I learned the Basics of firefighting with a great group of people there. I put in my Paid on call application with the Saint Albans Fire Department 1 year later and was accepted. I was a paid on call member there for a year and was put on active paid duty last month.
Day Job:
owner of American Car Care Centers in Saint Albans
Relationship Status:
Single
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Don't get me wrong I truly love helping people and saving life and property, but I am a huge adrenaline junky. When your heart start pumping when you hear that alarm go off not knowing what you are going to get into is what i live for.
That one "thank you" you get maybe out of a thousand calls makes it worth while.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
My 2nd family at the fire house and helping people.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Out of shape fireman, lack of training, (in some departments) and not being fully in depth trained on saving your own. A lot fire department breifly touch on the subject and do minor training, but i believe in having strong SOP's on the matter. Training on it on a regular basis. How can we save other people when we are unable to save our own to the best of our ability.
