About Me:: well i started out as a first responder in 2000 and went on and took a emt -b class passed it , i worked for a volunteer ems service for about a year and a half and worked full time for a paid service that covered about 800 square miles average about 600 runs per year was a volunteer fire fighter for a total of two years back in 1994/1997 i have also been on a volunteer rescue service that did hazmat and auto extracation loved.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: was my passion to help and the sick and injured.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: helping total strangers that I don't even know and there out come is good

Top Issues Facing Responders:: well the pay is really bad I hope some day it will get better but who knows we put our lives on the line day or night anytime not knowing what we are getting in to for the most part.

Life in EMS is very fun and sad you see so many people come and go in this life. People that don't do this have no ideal. I think we all that Volunteer and work Full time of any Service needs a pat on the back, we all no we are under paid and hardly ever thanked but we do it because we care about the people we know in our community and the total strangers we don't know.So to all that do this work rock on, and stay safe.
