Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Retired chief of police from the Marshall, Mo. PD (1983-2008) but now serving as a Saline County Sheriff's Reserve Deputy and Director of Training for the Saline County Criminal Justice Training Center (non-paid, volunteer positions).
My Training:
B.S. in legal justice; M.A. in Criminal Justice Administration; graduate of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Academy; and continuing education thereafter.
About Me:
I continue to serve the first responder and public safety community by providing continuing education training and training materials (lesson plans and PowerPoint presentations) to agencies and instructors so they can enhance their training systems.
I didn't but worked in a affiliated field - law enforcement.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Because of my high respect for the work they do.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I would say budget concerns in the current economy, training, and turnover. If it's like in other first responder agencies, the Baby Boomers are retiring in great numbers. You need to have qualified, healthy people interested in fire service.
