Why I Joined Fire/EMS

My dad was a I used to ride with him as a kid. We use to hang out at the fire departments in the area where he worked. They were mostly volunteer back then and when they got a call I would see all of the men and women rush to the firehouse, put their gear on, jump on the engine, and rush out the door. I would always ask my dad what was going on and being he was a police officer he wasn't always able to explain thing's to me. He once told me that the men and women I see running around like they are crazy people are going to help people they don't even know. He gave me examples of how he helped people in his job but the men and women in the fire service risk so much every time the tones drop. For him being a police officer was something for him to do to take care of his family. Being a firefighter is something that gives you another family.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

Seeing the relief in someones eyes when you arrive on a scene no matter what the call is I know I will go to any lenth to help they people that have called upon me.
