The health and Safety of the wearers, and a personal commitment to ensure the safety of Fire fighters. To try and simplify some of the jargon and current information available to people.

About Me:

I worked mainly in research and development with the Fire and Rescue Service for thirty one years. This was supplies and Personal Protective Equipment. My main duties were to write specifications for PPE, and responsiblity for the delivery of training to the fire-fighters on the wearing, care and maintenance of their PPE.

I was part of the The Partner Brigades PPE Risk Working group for the Integrated Clothing Project (Scottish representative)

I presently carry out technical specialist work withJollyScarpe PBI Performance Products and a Technical advisor to (Novation Group) Safety Footwear.

I am presently a committee member of three BSI (British Standards)
PH/003 Protective Clothing
PH/003/02 Heat and Flame Personal Protective Equipment
PH/014 Firefighters Personal Protective Equipment

and I am the chair of
PH/003/08 Protective Gloves.

I am also a member of ASBCI (association of suppliers to the British clothing industry)

The Glove Trade Committee (The Glovers Company)

I am also a member of NFPA
