About Me:

love to shoot, hunt, fish, garden, work on my farm. I run a family owned meat processing plant that our family built in 1945, Grandview Locker Plant. I also have a Security business, Badlands Security, and I have the contract for all of the special events in Deadwood, SD and other communities as well. I am a certified pyrotechnician affiliated with Premier Pyrotechnics and shoot the 3rd of July show at the Black Hills Roundup and Rodeo, and other shows as well. 3 grown kids, 4 growing grandkids keeps us running!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I went to a demo on elevator fires when I was working at a grain elevator. The camaraderie of the fire department was amazing and I already had friends who were members. Didn't take much from there!

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I love helping people and the brotherhood of the fire service. No matter what station you go to you are always welcomed.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Right now our biggest concern is lack of volunteers. It seems that people don't have as much time to commit to the fire service like they used to. Too many people working out of town and not here enough.
