I am currently serving as V.P. of our dept. I have been President,Lt.,Capt., Asst. Chief and was Chief for 25 yrs.
The fire dept. has been a major factor in my life, I can't begin to count the hours spent in service to my dept. and the fire service in general. I have loved it, hated it and put up with for 43 years now. I belive in being professional about your self as firefighter and ems person. I think it is about doing what's right not whats always popular. I have met so many great people and made life long firends via the fire service. Some were my heros and some my mentors. I owe a great debt to serveral! I would do it all over again and I am very pleased that my son will make 3 generations of fire fighters and ems persons in my family. My wife has been involved for over 25 years now as well. I met her while instructing an e.m.t. class and as they say the rest is history!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I followed my father to the firehouse to many times. I leaned it was the right thing to do. In small towns you know almost everyone and giving back feels good. Helping people who need it most gives one a great feeling!!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It makes me feel good about myself, when I know I have helped someone in need!
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety- lack of qualified responder's and the desire to become professional at the job!
Budgets, money, trainging, meeting standards
