Hometown hero laid to rest with honors

HAMPTON—A volunteer firefighter since his teens, Hampton Fire and Rescue Squad Deputy Chief Daniel Rumsey dedicated his life to the emergency services of Sussex County, his friends say.

Rumsey was the man who helped start three emergency squads in the county: He was founder of the Hampton Fire and Rescue Squad, a member and founder of the original Fredon Emergency Medical Service, and founder of the Fredon-Stillwater EMS, which… Continue

Hi Frank: I really liked your WTC photo (firefighter with yellow helmet) and wondered if you would mind giving permission to having it used in a training DVD for Hospice volunteers to illustrate a personal story from a chaplain working on the pile the day after 911. Thanks - greg

Well, I really love the blue trucks!! That is so great that you built your department out of nothing....pretty great story. Did members of the community help out too?

Hi Frank! Thank you for the friend are you doing today? I dont think I have seen blue firetrucks before! They are COOL!! Is there a particular reason why they are that colour? That 14th picture....with the crushed firetruck....OMG, that is hard to look at, it's almost unbelievable. Can you believe it's almost 7 years since 9/11 happened?
