On Friday, Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to a small fire at a daycare. La Petite Academy is located off Old Hundred Road. The call was placed at about 12:30 pm with smoke coming from the attic above the bathroom. All the children got out safely and no injuries were reported. Due to the fact that it was raining, Century 21 opened it door allowing the children to wait for their parents to pick them inside. Century 21 is located right behind the daycare. Firefighters credit how smoothly the evacuation went to the fact the daycare had regular fire drills.
