I come from a long line of Irish civil servants, and I wanted to join their ranks. I can't think of a more rewarding way to do that than becoming a firefighter.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
giving back to the community alongside some amazing people.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Staying relevant as the number of fires we respond to decreases, especially in communities where the fire service isn't the primary EMS provider. In my community when people find out that I'm on the department, the first question they usually ask me is how many false alarms at the college I've responded to. What they don't realize is how grateful they'll be to have a crew of highly trained firefighters responding should the need arise.

I was at home doing absolutely nothing. My wife came home around 4p and said that the street was blocked off. I heard no tone, the little orange light "wasnt" orange. I felt left out. I wish I could have been there.

lol yeah the hazmat stuff is fun like that. get enough sleep before class for ops unless you like doing the sleepy head-bob thing. I went on a car fire the morning of ops at like 2am and was head-bobing the whole time.
