57 yr old married 22 yrs to my husband who is the aas't chief. He's been on the dept 32yrs. Have 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.

Day Job:

Looking for work right now. But I cover whatever comes in during the day, cause like everybody else that's when we're short handed.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I've always been interested in the service and being a dispatcher only brought me closer. So after we got married I joined with my husband but I got sick and had to leave for awhile, but now I'm back and ready to go.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I love helping others and this brings you closer to people in more ways than you will ever know unless you are Fire/EMS.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

Not enough staff, we're in a rural area. Equipment, the cost is so high you have to know that the person who comes in and says they want to join are really gonna stay with it.
