About Me:
I am 21 years old living in a small home in the village where I volunteer. I joined BVFD as a junior when i was 13 years old and sense then have moved up in the ranks to Lieutenant. After going to college I was hired at the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire district and then after working there for about a year I got my second job at the Fredericktown Community Joint Emergency Ambulance District where I have been for just over a year.
My grandfather, father, uncle, and cousin have all been involved in this great service, and its something special I hope to pass on to my son someday. I feel that I have been blessed with the ability to do this job and do it well. I owe thanks to God, my father and family/friends, and all my fellow brothers who have raised me and supported me through the hard times. Thank you all
Relationship Status:
Single
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I joined the fire service because of the desire to help others in my community. My family has a history in the fire service and I felt the need to continue the genarations in the service. It's truly a calling and I feel that its what i've been put here to do.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The rush you get from being the answer to someones prayers
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I feel that we are becoming a service of people that are looking for a job and fell into firefighting. I have no problem if someone didn't know they wanted to be in this job and then found out the passion they have for it. My concern are the ones who still don't really care about the job. They show up, ride the rig, and go home. This job is a job of passion and great pride in the work you do and thats what it needs to stay.
