I work for a Developmental center which houses and takes care of individuals who are mentally and physically challenged. I am direct support staff.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I wanted to help others, besides at my job. I have wanted join most of my life. I went to apply several times but it did not feel right. I moved to my current home and that Fourth of July parade they staged at the corner of my street. I got a huge lump in my throat and was choked up. Tears wanted stream down my face as i thought it is my time now. So the next day I called my local department and followed up with paperwork... Here I am going through fire Science less then a week ago.
