Desire to help others in there time of need.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

The feeling you get when its all over and you know that you did a job well done. Someones house was saved, some kid gets to go home to his family tonight becasue of the differece you have made and the sacrafices you have given.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

With the amount of calls being ran the volunteer Fire/EMS service is starting to fizzle out. People are getting burnt out, and with the economy the way it is people have less time to devote to calls, trainings, fundraisers etc. I think that the goverment and the local municipalities should step-up to the plate and either start rendering additional assistance to these orginizations and there volunteers or start shelling out some money to staff these places with career people. Either way times have changes and something needs to be done. If you agree take time to send a letter/email or even stop by your local representatives office and let them know how you feel about this.
