It's funny how people remember us

From that fateful day

As the heroes who climbed the towers

Passing workers on the way

They see the footage of us in the lobby

Preparing for the haul

The look on our faces, they say

Surely says it all

"They knew they were going to die",

They tell each other

"You can see it in their eyes as they

Greet a fellow brother"

They fail to…

The Last Alarm

My father was fireman. He drove a big red truck

and when he'd go to work each day he'd say, "Mother wish me luck."

Then Dad would not come home again 'til sometime the next day.

But the thing that…

Being a Firefighter...

Who among us hasn't ever wondered as we stand in the cold, dark, wee hours of the morning. "God, why an I here? Why am I in the freezing rain at 2am pulling hoses and trying to keep warm? Why?" But who among us hasn't glowed with pride while we stand around twenty-five seven year-olds during a fire safety class as they stare in awe at that "big red truck", and scared yellow…

Quotes on Firefighters and Firefighting

When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. ~Edward F. Croker

I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. ~Edward F. CrokerI can think of no more…

Looking for this EMS gentleman.docxI am looking for the gentleman in the photo whom I believe lives in the area of Georgia. He has done nothing whatsoever wrong, nor am I chasing him for anything, but someone is operating in the UK on the pretence of being him and attempting to extort money from innocent people and I think he should know all about it. After all, this is not only an indictment on him but also on the trust people have in the EMS services (I refer to the attached photo displaying the EMS badge which has been deliberately used to promote his honesty). I know I would want to know if it was being done to me. So if you recognise him, can you please advise me or ask him to contact me directly at or phone on 00 44 1566 770 751. If you or the gentleman in the photo would like to call me, I am happy to call you straight back and I will give him all the details on this matter. Stay Safe Annie
