About Me:

Went on in 1963 when 95% of training was done by your House Captain. No hearing protection was available and anyone who put on an air mask was called a sissy. At age 72 I am the last still alive of the guys I went to work with in 1963. We were killing ourselves in the name of being a tough smoke eater and didn't know it. The last Monday of each month we have a breakfast for us retired guys and each year the crowd thins. Many of us with hearing problems, heart problems but all of us would still report to work in our turnouts if called on.

Full time baby sitter for 2 grandsons

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Took a paycut to get on in 1963, but I wanted a retirement plan for my old age and at 72 I'm forever grateful for that decision. I hope to draw it for many more years.
