First female to be certified as a FF I/II in my department, Advance Fire Department. My 18 year old daughter is currently in the Fire Academy at Midway Fire Department in NC. She achieved her EMT-B certification before graduating from high school!!!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined the fire department in 2008 after my Daddy passed away. I had wanted to for many years, but my ex-husband told me that I couldn't! After I got rid of him and saw first hand how the First Responders of my local FD tried to save my dad, I was hooked even more and I knew that I was joining!
