Rated at #2 in the world most deadly snakes, when aroused in full attack mode, can throw its self across ground 1-1/2 to 2 its own body length, with multi strikes, each bite is often only a slight scratch, the bite often painless and usually goes unnotice until the venom starts to take effect, rendering its attacker unconscious within minutes, death will follow after 30min if no first aid is carried out. Usually more then 1 envenomation in each bite, each envenomation can kill 9 to 15 adult men. This snake grows to a lenght of 8 ft / 2.44cm and is common throughout Australia.

Gday Eric, believe me mate, If his back wasnt broken in 3 places, and still able to throw himself I wouldnt attempt to take pics of a piss off Eastern Brown they are just to bloody fast and deadly.

Believe it or not their venom is being use in medicine for major trauma wounds on soldiers in the middle east, your gila monster venom is use in a drug called Byetta used for cure in type 2 diabetes. A number of venoms in cancer treatment , heart disease.

But yeah I know exactly what you mean, I got the same fear of spiders roaches hornets and wasps, hehehe.
