Amatuer Radio Relay League (ARRL) every year has a field day where ham radio operators around the world make as many contacts as possable. (emergency power only) SR 1 is equipped with a 50,000 watt generator. I dont remember the number of all the contacts we made during the event, but i made contacts asross the U.S. and Canada.
