This was the first General Alarm fire to occur in Springfield since the American Bosch factory fire in December 2004. That fire eventually went to 4 alarms. This fire was held to 3 but damaged 2 buildings and a seperate fire was set down the street that took several companies 15 minutes to extinguish.
