The Butte County Fire-Rescue Services contracts with the California Environmental Protection Agency to provide an Interagency Hazardous Materials Team to respondto has-mat incidents throughout Northern California. The Hackney DF 1082 Haz-Mat is mounted on a HME 1871 custom cab/chassis with a 325 hp Cummins. There are full length roll-out awnings on both sides of the body to provide shelter during long-term incidents. With over 800 cu. ft. of storage capacity, the body provides ample space for all the bulky equipment required to respond to all haz-mat calls.A slide-out vertical rack is provided that accommodates eight (8) complete SCBA's for "snatch and go" retrieval, plus twelve spare bottles. A 5.0kw Honda provides power for remount on-scene lighting and other support services. The roof supports a 240" long x 60" wide x 10" high bulk storage compartment with split, lift-up doors. An OSHA approved roof access ladder is bolted to the rear body panel.
