This is called "horizontal rescue",I was told by a trainer this methord is from Japan, and is widely used in many countries. But it was canceled by our FD due to its potential danger to both rescuer and victim if the ladder stands on a slippy ground.Hence we changed it and perfected it.We put a pad on the ground and then put the ladder on the pad.The rescuer on the roof wearing a half body hasty harness used a rescue 8 as a buffering system to let the ladder down slowly. But we rarely use this methord due to its instability.Have you ever rescued victims by this methord?
